There are no laws preventing you from placing small orders to stay below import duty thresholds; just check border regulations to avoid duties and fees.
Australia:
If your order’s value is up to 1000 AUD, no duty is charged at the border. For goods over 1000 AUD, you’ll need to file an import declaration and pay duties (typically 5%) plus a 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the cost, including shipping and insurance.

Per Legislative Decree No. 1.804/1980, imported goods over 100 USD are subject to customs duty. Orders up to 500 USD require a Simplified Import Declaration (DSI), and up to 3000 USD can use the Importa Fácil Correios solution. Import tax is 60% of the goods’ value, including shipping and insurance (CIF). Track your parcel at https://www.correios.com.br/. Once “Customs inspection completed” appears, check Minhas Importações to see if tax applies. Postal fee: 15 BRL for all international imports, taxed or not.
